ER is an American medical drama series set primarily in the emergency room of fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. It is a very good TV series for entertainment in spare time. ER won 23 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series (1996), and received 123 Emmy nominations, the most of any television show in history.
If it is said that hospital is a battlefield of life and death, then doctors and nurses in the emergency room are the advance detachment of this battle. In a hospital in Chicageo, doctors in emergency room on the ground floor earn relatively low salary but do the hardest work in the hospital. They have to work 36 hours at a stretch. They race with death every moment and deal with all the incidents. They do not only face with the illness and injury. They betray truely their good and evil, beauty and ugliness in their hearts.
In ER, from their busy and intense work, the doctors in emergency room also need to face their own difficulties in life. Even they have to confront birth, old age, sickness and death of their colleagues with whom get along day and night. Waves of interns learn and grow in this emergency room. Some of them remain to stay here and become the backbones of this hospital and also some of them leave to another different life path.
The emergency room is always noisy and the doctors' pace is hasty evermore. However, no matter how tired they are, they create moving stories of saving one life after another with their noble hearts and high skills.
